WyoX

WyoX is a city-wide, co-ed middle and high school mountain bike team based in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Middle school students (6th - 8th grade) can be part of the team and practice with the team. Students must be in high school (9th - 12th grade) to compete in the races. WyoX participates and races in the Colorado High School Cycling League.

Team Philosophy

The primary focus of WyoX is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment to engage students in the challenging and exciting world of mountain biking.  The coaching staff is committed to promoting strong minds, bodies and characters as well as sportsmanship and an appreciation for the outdoors through the sport of mountain biking.   In all that the team does, we are guided by five core principles. These principles are:

Strong Mind: Student-athletes are students first. Our program encourages academic excellence.

Strong Body: We emphasize wellness through lifestyle, nutrition and exercise. Improving physical fitness and overall wellness are at the center of our training and education.

Strong Character: All student-athletes are expected to work hard, respect others and give back to our community. Our program encourages and provides opportunities for trail stewardship, bicycle advocacy and mentoring.

Inclusive: All student-athletes participate 100% of the time. No one is “benched” and everyone is encouraged to ride and try racing, irrespective of how fast – or slow – they may be.

Equal: All student-athletes are treated equally. When racing, team scores are a combination of points scored by both boys and girls.
